Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Coast
A helicopter soaring near a well-attended California coastline suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, finally losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers watched.
Recordings uploaded on social media capture the aircraft commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters stated five individuals were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the crash on the weekend.
Three people on the road were hurt. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
